Philosophy And Approach

Koru Spring welcomes adult women of all identities to our program. We have seen first-hand an increase in the number of women seeking treatment for an eating disorder while presenting with co-occurring conditions including substance use disorder (SUD). We developed Koru Spring as a response to this need, wanting to ensure that those struggling have a safe and evidence-based program to turn to. 

At Koru Spring, we take a holistic approach to treating eating disorders. We understand that eating disorders impact each facet of a person’s life and our program was designed to help residents heal physically, mentally, and spiritually. Program highlights include: 

• Our well-rounded approach to care paves the path for lasting recovery. At Koru Spring, our therapists will work with you one-on-one and in group settings to understand and process any underlying causes of your eating disorder. They will also help you develop new, healthy coping skills.
• Together, you and your dietitian will create nutritious, well-rounded meal plans. You will meet regularly to discuss how you are progressing on your meal plan while cultivating a new relationship with food.
• We offer mindfulness workshops, yoga sessions, and gratitude groups as residents focus on reconnecting with themselves and listening to the body’s internal cues.
• Our hands-on cooking classes and grocery shopping experientials allow residents to apply the skills they are learning in real-world settings. With over two decades of experience helping patients develop healthy habits; we have found that experiences like these are the best way to instill new habits while addressing any potential triggers with the support of your therapist.

Koru Spring is part of the Lakeview Health campus in Jacksonville, Florida. The Lakeview Health campus features manicured grounds including a scenic lake, meditation garden, yoga studio, and on-site spa. The Oakleaf Café features a homey atmosphere and communal seating, providing the perfect environment for residents to share meals with the support of their care team and peers.
